For the money ($500) this 1987 Toyota Corolla hatchback might easily be the best car I've ever had. I removed the passenger and rear seats and built a sleeping platform inside and the little rig took me on the most amazing trips down the Oregon/California coast and out as far as Colorado and never broke down once.
