This was awesome - today my bro Pete, an incredible dude who I've known since 6th grade and who's been living on Maui for the last 5 years, gave me a ring and told me to hop onto the website for the youth center which he runs in Paia. They just got a webcam up and running of Paia Bay and there he was, on the beach beside the youth center, with the sun shining and some solid late-winter swell rolling in behind him.
